Cynar is a bitter Italian apéritif liqueur made from a wide variety of herbs and plants, including artichoke.


  • 1 ounce gin
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 1 ounce Cynar
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • Orange peel roll to garnish


  1. Place the gin, sweet vermouth and Cynar into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Vigorously shake the mixture for 35 seconds to combine and then strain into a cocktail glass.
  3. Add the 2 dashers of bitters to the cocktail and then garnish with the orange peel roll; serve immediately.
