Chocolate Crunch is chilled overnight and topped with whipped cream and cherries.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 beaten egg yolks
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 egg whites
  • whipped cream
  • maraschino cherries

Directions

  1. Blend butter and confectioners' sugar; add egg yolks. Melt chocolate and add vanilla. Add to butter mixture. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into chocolate mixture.
  2. Line a 9 by 13 inch baking pan with 1/2 the wafer crumbs. Spread chocolate mixture on top and then add remaining wafer crumbs. Refrigerate overnight. Top with a layer of whipped cream and cherries.
