These easy-to-make bars are so sweet and moist. Ideal for taking to potlucks or for using as gifts.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, divided
  • 2 cups sugar, divided
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla, divided
  • 1 16-ounce can chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Mix together 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar.
  2. Add eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla, then mix in syrup.
  3. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
  4. Fold in nuts.
  5. Pour mixture into a greased baking pan.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
  7. In a saucepan, mix together remaining sugar, butter and milk.
  8. Boil mixture for 1 minute over medium heat.
  9. Remove mixture from heat; mix in remaining vanilla and chocolate chips until glaze becomes smooth.
  10. Spread glaze over warm bars.
