Southern homemade chili sauce.
Ingredients
- 22 large tomatoes
- 4 onions
- 3 bell peppers
- 4 sweet peppers
- 4 hot peppers
- 2 tablespoon dry mustard
- 2 teaspoons nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 4 1/2 cups vinegar
Directions
- Peel the tomatoes and onions. Chop all of the vegetables.
- Add in all the spices, sugar, vinegar and salt. Cook on low until it thickens, stirring frequently.
- Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
