This is great for dipping asparagus spears, mushrooms, french bread or other vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 8 oz Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 8 oz Swiss cheese, grated

Directions

  1. Combine wine, water, lemon juice, nutmeg, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Place the cheeses in a double boiler.
  3. Stir in the wine mixture.
  4. Heat and stir until cheese has melted and has a smooth consistency.
  5. Pour mixture into a fondue pot.
