Joaquin Simo of Death & Company is the mixologist behind this aromatic, yet intense cocktail made with a blend of rye, Punt e Mes, Amaro and Maraschino liqueur.
- 2 ounces rye whiskey
- 1/2 ounce Punt e Mes
- 1/2 ounce Amaro
- 1 bar-spoon Maraschino liqueur
- Lemon peel curl
- Place all of the ingredients, except for the lemon peel curl, into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Slowly stir the mixture for 30 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass.
- Gently twist the lemon peel over the drink to release its natural oils and then run it around the rim of the glass. Discard the peel and then serve immediately.
