Caramel Corn is a great homemade treat.
Ingredients
- 2 sticks margarine
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light Karo Syrup
- 6 quarts popped corn
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Directions
- Boil margarine, salt, brown sugar, soda, and syrup in a large pan for 6 minutes. Add 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar. The baking soda will make mixture foam. Pour over pop corn. Stir until uniformly coated.
- Spread on a large greased cookie sheet and bake at 200 degrees F for 1 hour. Every 20 minutes stir and turn over. Add nuts.
