Caramel Corn is a great homemade treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light Karo Syrup
  • 6 quarts popped corn
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Directions

  1. Boil margarine, salt, brown sugar, soda, and syrup in a large pan for 6 minutes. Add 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar. The baking soda will make mixture foam. Pour over pop corn. Stir until uniformly coated.
  2. Spread on a large greased cookie sheet and bake at 200 degrees F for 1 hour. Every 20 minutes stir and turn over. Add nuts.
