An entire lime, cut into eights, fills the bottom of this citron-vodka, simple syrup and chilled club soda cocktail.

Place the lime and the simple syrup into a cocktail shaker and muddle well to combine.
Pour the vodka into the shaker, add a handful of ice and then shake vigorously to combine.
Pour the mixture into a rocks cocktail glass, top with additional ice if needed, and then add a splash of chilled club soda; serve immediately.
