This slight variation to a classic Gin Rickey cocktail uses ginger ale instead of club soda to top this refreshing mixed drink.


  • 1-1/2 ounces gin
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Ice
  • Cold ginger ale
  • Wedge of lime


  1. Place a highball cocktail glass in the freezer for 5 minutes to chill.
  2. Pour the gin and the lime juice into the prepared glass filled with ice, and then top with ginger ale to fill.
  3. Rub the lime wedge around the rim of the glass, squeeze the juice into the mixture and then drop the wedge into the glass. Serve immediately.
