Don’t limit your brown sugar to baked goods and desserts. It also works wonders as a dry rub for steaks and poultry.


  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sweet paprika
  • 1/4 cup sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons black pepper
  • 3 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 3 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoon dried basil


  1. Place all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix well to combine.
  2. Cover the protein of your choice with the rub and then set aside for 30 minutes prior to cooking as desired.
