This gin-based drink’s popularity stretches back to its debut in the 1930s at the New York’s Brass Rail in the Waldorf. Make sure to use freshly squeezed orange juice, not concentrate, to preserve this beverage’s great taste and tradition.
- 2 ounces gin
- 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
- 1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
- 1 ounce fresh orange juice
- Pre-chill a cocktail glass by placing in the freezer for 5 minutes.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and then add the gin, both vermouths and the orange juice.
- Vigorously shake the mixture for 30 seconds and then strain into the prepared glass. Serve immediately.
