Fruity red wine is combined with bourbon and then heated with a mix of flavorful and aromatic ingredients to give you this rich and heady drink.
Ingredients
- 1/2 bottle fruity red wine
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 star anise pods
- 1 long strip lemon peel
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- cinnamon sticks to garnish
Directions
- Place all of the ingredients, except for the garnish, into a saucepan and warm over low heat being careful not to boil.
- Remove the pan from the heat and set aside for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to intermingle.
- Serve the mixture in heatproof mugs and garnish with cinnamon sticks.
