A darker alternative to a more traditional martini; garnish with a single black olive for dramatic presentation.


  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
  • Ice
  • 1 black olive to garnish


  1. Pre-chill a cocktail glass by putting into the freezer.
  2. Pour the rum and the vermouth into a cocktail shaker and add a handful of ice.
  3. Shake the mixture vigorously for 20 seconds and then strain into the prepared cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish the drink with the olive and serve.
