Black Chocolate Cake is a rich, moist cake made from scratch with an extra helping of cocoa powder.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

  1. Mix dry ingredients together; add eggs and mix. Add boiling water in which butter has been melted. Add vanilla. Stir until smooth.
  2. Pour in a large loaf pan or two round pans or a bundt pan that has been greased well. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes or until done.
