These flavorful muffins make an excellent breakfast treat, especially alongside a hot cup of coffee.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup wheat germ
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups half-and-half cream
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

Directions

  1. Combine flour, whole wheat flour, wheat germ, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; set aside.
  2. Beat eggs and half-and-half cream together.
  3. Blend flour combination into egg mixture.
  4. Gently fold in berries.
  5. Pour batter into greased muffin tins.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
