Take it from an expert who knows his ribs and rubs. This spice mixture adds robust flavor to grilled pork ribs.


  • 1/2 cup black pepper
  • 1/4 cup sweet paprika
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin


  1. Place all of the ingredients into a small bowl and mix to combine.
  2. Evenly cover the ribs with the rub on all sides before grilling.
  3. Save any additional rub in a glass jar with a tightly-fitted cap and store in a cool dry place until ready to use.
