According to a French barman’s statement in the 1920s, this classy cocktail, made with a simple blend of bitters, fresh lime juice and dry gin, was first concocted in Chile.


  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1/4 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1-1/4 ounces dry gin


  1. Place all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Vigorously shake the mixture for 35 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass; serve immediately.
