‘Maracuja’ is the Spanish word for a particular species of passion flower that is native to South America. In this cocktail passion fruit is blended with cachaça and fresh lime juice to create a light, slightly tart and very tropical mixed drink.
Ingredients
- 1 ounce cachaça
- 2 ounces passion fruit juice or 1/2 a fresh passion fruit, quartered
- 2 teaspoons simple syrup
- splash of fresh lime juice
- crushed ice
- lime wedge to garnish
Directions
- Place all of the ingredients, except for the garnish, into a blender and process until mixture is smooth yet slushy.
- Pour the mixture into a highball cocktail glass, garnish with a wedge of lime and serve immediately.
