A simple and classic white sauce, great over meats and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 1/2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups milk
Directions
- Melt the butter in a saucepan. Mix in the flour, salt and pepper and heat over medium, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
- Slowly add in the milk and continue heating until the mixture has thickened, stirring constantly.
