Banana Split Dessert is a frozen dessert that can be prepared ahead.
Ingredients
- Crust: 1 package graham cracker crumbs
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- Filling: 3 bananas
- 1/2 gallon Neopolitan ice cream
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- Topping: 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups confectioner's sugar
- 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pint whipping cream
Directions
- Crust: Mix butter with crumbs and sugar and pat into bottom of 9 by 13 inch baking pan.
- Filling: Slice bananas thinly over crust. Slice ice cream in 1/2 inch slices and place over bananas. Sprinkle nuts on top. Freeze.
- Topping: Melt chocolate chips and butter. Add sugar and milk. Cook until smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add vanilla, beat and cool. Pour over ice cream mixture. Freeze. Top with whipped cream.
