Banana Pound Cake is moist and delicious.  Top a slice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup for a sundae cake.  Don't forget the whipped cream and cherries.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups shortening
  • 2-1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 bananas, mashed
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar together in a bowl. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add bananas, mixing well.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Pour into a large greased and floured bundt pan. Bake at 300 degrees F for 1-1/2 hours.
