Baked crappie with bacon dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds crappie filets
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 clove garlice, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Heat the butter in a skillet and saute the onion, green pepper, and garlic. Add everything else but the bacon and lemon juice in. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Arrange 3 slices of bacon along the bottom of the baking dish. Place the fish on top and top with the remaining bacon.
  4. Baste with the sauce, cover and bake for 1 hour. While baking occasionally baste. Prior to serving spread the lemon juice on top.
