Baked crappie with bacon dish.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds crappie filets
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, minced
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 clove garlice, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 bay leaves
- 6 slices bacon
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Heat the butter in a skillet and saute the onion, green pepper, and garlic. Add everything else but the bacon and lemon juice in. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Arrange 3 slices of bacon along the bottom of the baking dish. Place the fish on top and top with the remaining bacon.
- Baste with the sauce, cover and bake for 1 hour. While baking occasionally baste. Prior to serving spread the lemon juice on top.
