Champagne cocktails are light, bubbly and present an air of chic classiness that other cocktails lack. Try this version made with gin and maraschino liqueur.
Ingredients
- 2 basil leaves, cut into thin strips plus 1 sprig to garnish
- 3 pitted Bing cherries
- 1 ounce gin
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 1/4 ounce maraschino liqueur
- 1/2lime juice
- 3-4 ounce champagne
Directions
- Place the basil, cherries, gin, simple syrup, maraschino and lime juice into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously to combine.
- Pour the mixture into a highball cocktail glass and then top with the champagne. Stir gently to combine and then garnish with a sprig of fresh basil. Serve immediately.
