This pesto differs from classic pesto with the addition of arugula instead of fresh basil. The green’s vibrant taste and peppery bite makes it a delicious sauce to toss with pasta. 


  • 1 6-ounce bag of arugula
  • 1/3 cup asiago cheese (
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/4 cup olive oil + more if needed
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream


  1. Place the garlic, arugula and asiago cheese into a food processor and process until combined.
  2. With the food processor’s motor running, slowly pour the oil down the processor flute and mix until blended.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, season to taste with salt and pepper and then add the cream and stir to combine.
