This rich, deep and aromatic whiskey-based cocktail combines a wonderful blend of vermouth, Cherry Heering and absinthe. The fragrant result is earthy, with slight vegetal notes and a light sweetness.

Ingredients

2 ounces rye whiskey
3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
2 bar-spoons Cherry Heering
1/2 bar-spoon absinthe
Lemon zest twist to garnish

Directions

Pour all of the ingredients, except for the garnish, into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Slowly stir the mixture for 35 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass.
Garnish the cocktail with the lemon zest twist and then serve immediately.
