Aloha Pineapple Cake welcomes you to the islands. 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1, 20 ounce can crushed pineapple
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Sauce: 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup evaporated milk

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix in eggs and pineapple. Pour into a greased 9 by 13 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
  2. Sauce: Before cake is done, combine milk, sugar, vanilla, margarine in a saucepan and bring to a boil. As soon as cake is done, pour boiling sauce over cake.
