Aloha Pineapple Cake welcomes you to the islands.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1, 20 ounce can crushed pineapple
- 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- Sauce: 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup evaporated milk
Directions
- Combine sugar, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix in eggs and pineapple. Pour into a greased 9 by 13 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
- Sauce: Before cake is done, combine milk, sugar, vanilla, margarine in a saucepan and bring to a boil. As soon as cake is done, pour boiling sauce over cake.
