This sherry-based cocktail was named after a popular play in the late 1800s which enjoyed over 500 performances on Broadway.

Pre-chill a cocktail glass by placing in the freezer for 5 minutes.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and then add the bitters, vermouth and the sherry.
Vigorously shake the mixture for 30 seconds and then strain into the prepared glass; serve immediately.
