This sherry-based cocktail was named after a popular play in the late 1800s which enjoyed over 500 performances on Broadway.
- 1 teaspoon bitters
- 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
- 1-1/2 ounces dry sherry
- Pre-chill a cocktail glass by placing in the freezer for 5 minutes.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and then add the bitters, vermouth and the sherry.
- Vigorously shake the mixture for 30 seconds and then strain into the prepared glass; serve immediately.
