Not all dog breeds trigger watery eyes and sneezes, however: Some shed less, have less dander or don’t have any fur at all! 2. Chinese Crested

The most efficient way to avoid dog-induced allergies is to get a dog without any, or with very little, hair. You can't go wrong with the Chinese crested; they barely shed at all. They do produce dander and can be a little clingy, but they're very good with children.

I have a heart/lung illness & can't be around any thing that sheds... my little man is a Cockapoo! Best dog ever! So smart too!

Has anyone got an opinion on Maltese-Shih Tzu-Yorkie cross as far as allergens go?

I'm allergic to most animals,cats and horses the most :( I have 3 dogs,2 which shred a lot. I've found it's not the shredding with me,it's the dogs with short fur like labs and staff's. Mine are husky/malamute cross,German shepherd/malamute cross and a terrier cross :)

Anyone who says that there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog breed doesn't understand the meaning of the term. Hypoallergenic means low on he scale of causing allergic reactions. Hyperallergenic means high on the scale of causing allergic reactions. Some dog breeds are less likely to cause allergic reactions than others and can be categorized as hypoallergenic. I believe the allergist's nurse meant that every dog breed can cause allergies in some people.

I have a Shih Tzu and I am very allergic to it.. :/ i Sneeze a lot, and if I'm somewhere near my face after just petting him, I scratch my eyes out (almost..) I hope the Basenji is better, because that's the dog breed i'm going to get next.
