Most people consider themselves animal lovers to some degree. Some people are dog lovers; some are crazy for cats. Some folks even prefer snakes. But how much would you pay for a precious pet? Descended from two Kentucky Derby winners, the colt scored the best time among 154 racehorses sold at Calder Race Track -- he ran an eighth of a mile in less than 10 seconds! Why is a white lion on a list of pets? Wild animals are not pets, especially endangered ones. It only puts the thought in people's heads that they can have one as a pet. Not cool. Absolutely ridiculous.

a race horse is not a pet

I would have sold this fish the second I had an offer. My luck it would die in the next minute. People with this much money for a stupid fish, just don't care enough about the world.

I am shocked to read about these animal stories! Especially the one on cloning their dog. Although I think it would be an owner's greatest present to have their pet cloned after it passes, I have always been brought up adopting cats and dogs from local shelters. Instead of spending all this money on cloning animals and whatnot, I feel that is hurting the chances of these poor animals that desperately need a home. My aunt has also owned a chimpanze once and at first it was the greatest purchase she could've made. Being the animal lover that she was, she was able to dress it, feed it and take it out for bystanders to stand in awh. However, from her experience it seemed training the monkey was nearly impossible. Since it is like having a child, she was not able to keep the money unfortunately due to it biting/harming others. Even though it wasn't intentional, just like owning a dog or cat, you can never be too safe when it comes to the animal and their instincts. I wonder why the Bengal Cat is so expensive? I love the coloring (Garfield like) fur but is a cat really worth $42,000 ?! Especially when cats usually live only up to 10-15years.
