Lancelot Encore is not only the world's most expensive dog ever sold, he is also the world's first commercially cloned puppy! A Florida couple had the forethought to have samples taken from their beloved pet Lancelot, a Labrador retriever. After he passed away, the couple won the opportunity to have their pet cloned in an auction by BioArts, a California-based firm, which employed Sooam Biotech Research Foundation to complete the retriever recreation. Lancelot Encore is said to have many of the same traits as his predecessor, particularly in the looks department.
