Hero dogs

Amazing Rescues By Canine Heroes

According to the American Heritage Dictionary, a hero is "a person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life." These same qualities extend to our four-legged friends who have, time and time again, exhibited selflessness and courage in challenging situations.

A two-legged dog hero and her special family

Even without words, Faith -- a two-legged dog -- shows us what it means to beat the odds and have the courage to rise above challenges. She was a newborn pup being smothered to death by her mother when Rubin found her and brought her home to his mom, Jude.  The dog had been born with a deformity and only had her hind legs; the front ones were but stubs. The veterinarian suggested euthanasia, but Jude was determined to do what she could to help the pup have a happy life, despite disability. With her determination and perseverance, as well as the support and dedication of her entire family, Faith not only grew up a happy, healthy dog but also is able to walk on two legs. Now, Faith gives back to the community as a therapy dog for children. I don't know what's more amazing: Faith or her family!

wow...this is so heartbreaking....yet so admirable, of how a dog puts his life in danger by going in the middle of the highway to save a hurt dog across the street...
