With the economy continuing to weigh heavily on American minds, where do women turn for companionship and support? To their pets, of course! A new FemiNation poll by Lifetime Networks shows that 89% of women ages 18 to 49 will spend as much or more on their dogs and cats in 2009 despite the economic downturn.

hi there, our puppy 19 weeks old black lab mario gets so etcxied with my 6 yr old son and some adults that he jumps all over them and my worry is that he has scratched my son several times. he even scratched his eye once. we have tried saying down and i have had my son try to turn his back to him but he gets so etcxied and just wants to play that he is kinda of out of control for the first few minutes that he is freed from his crate. do you have any other suggestions?

Fantastic!Now a days,pets have really become a part of our daily life and they are so useful companions too.I am nearly a retired person(57) years and my two pet dogs help me so much,both emotionally and physically that I cannot call it a day without obliging them or spending time with them.This is really very informative and made me aware of so many things. Thanking you Profusely.

Totally agree with you, Ray! It's awesome that people value the support and joy that pets can bring into their lives. I don't know what I would do without my dogs, and it's completely true - I would never cut corners when it comes to my pets... i think of them as family!

Sick?!? I think that's so cool! In these hard times people are realizing that their pets provide the most genuine of love and support. i think that it's awesome that so many are giving their pets the extra love and attention right now and showing them the appreciation they deserve!
