Dressing up cats was a thing long before the internet said so

It's pretty much impossible to get online these days without seeing a cat dressed in a costume. To be completely honest, scanning the internet for dressed-up kitties is one of my favorite procrastination activities.

Most people probably think we have the internet to thank for such unique pastimes, but this super-fun tradition actually started way before the invention of the intrawebs. In fact, we have the ancient Egyptians and their bejeweled felines to thank for cat worship in all forms — and it only got better (and funnier) from there.
