A five-week-old duckling has become something of a sensation both on- and offline, thanks to her adorable attachment to her owner.
Clover stays by her owner Emma Stanworth's side wherever she goes, proof of the strong bond that was formed between them after 21-year-old Emma saved the duckling from near death when she was born.
West Yorkshire poultry keeper Emma said, "We've been incubating some eggs and we did a fertility test and found one was a twin embryo. Clover's twin died at four days old and we didn't think she'd survive either, her health was poor and people even told me to have her put to sleep. But I knew with patience and hope I could get her fit and healthy again."
Clover is indeed fit and healthy and she's grabbing life with both webbed feet and accompanying Emma and her family to various local spots, including the park, the shops and even the pub.
It's not often you see a duckling on the school run or popping into the hairdresser's for a blow-dry so unsurprisingly Clover has cult status around her hometown of Batley.
"When we go out people love to see her and hold her — it's amazing really, it's not something you see every day and they really don't expect it," said Emma.
"She’ll follow me into shops when I tell her to wait outside, and if I’m carrying something she wants she’ll jump up to try and get it," she added. "I love her to pieces, it’s great to see her waddling up the path on her own. I want people to be inspired by her story — humans can be friends with ducks."
