Wally is a 10-month-old English Angora rabbit who lives in Massachusetts with his owner Molly. He also happens to be the next big Instagram star because of his disproportionately large, fluffy ears. You'd think that because he looks a bit unusual, people might be turned off by him, but in fact the exact opposite is true. Wally has amassed over 24,000 Instagram followers, who do nothing but leave adoring comments on his pictures and video clips.
Wally is similar to the other internet-famous animals who all have a distinct feature that somehow makes them cuter. They are loved for their "abnormalities," which is an important lesson, if you think about it, in terms of humans. There may be something physical about you that makes you different, but that should be seen as a strength, not a weakness. Check out how Wally embraces his "weirdness."
That's why his big ears are always so smooth and shiny.
Wally was googling "ponies" (he's been wanting to find free pony rides for bunnies ... sigh. Yes, we've talked about the unlikeliness of this) when he came across "side PONYtails" and immediately wanted one. While using my sticker app, he realized, "There's no SCRUNCHIES! I can't show my side pony without a SCRUNCHY!" After spending time in the closet (this is where he goes when he's upset), he learned that bows can also be hair accessories. He doesn't know that traditionally scrunchies and bows are for girls, but as usual, I let him go with it.
Could a "normal" bunny pull off this barrette so well? I don't think so.
The "Don King" effect never looked so good.
Great for particularly boring meetings.
Um ... My "creative" solution for keeping dust bunnies (wink wink) out from under the bed really isn't cutting it anymore! Poster board and a twelve inch fence?! You know what they say about big ears... big brain.
Wally pretends this is his thrown. He makes the best of his "playpen" when Molly can't be with her little bunny, King Wally. #englishangora #rabbitsofinstagram #cutebunny #fluffybunny #pets #petsofinstagram #rabbitsofig #bunniesofig #rabbitoftheday #petoftheday #cute #bunny #rabbit #howtogetyourowndrawing
@teddi_whft "Teddi! I can almost reach your paw!" Wally's best impression of @teddi_whft (Wally wants people to think he dyed his wool, but we really just used filters ) #rabbitsofinstagram #cutebunny #fluffybunny #pets #petsofinstagram #rabbitsofig #bunniesofig #rabbitoftheday #petoftheday #cute #bunny #rabbit #rabbitsunited #rabbitstagram #angorarabbit #bunniesofinstagram #bunnystagram
They could be brothers.
So be careful what you say, even if he's not in the room.
Perhaps the only drawback to Wally's giant ears is they make him very easy to spot in games of hide and seek. Ah well. At least it's just a hobby, not a career choice.
