This aquarium, formerly dubbed the "Lost City of Atlantis," brings together science and nature with myth to an learning-rich yet entertaining experience for its guests. The Long Island Aquarium also encompasses the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation -- New York State's only authorized marine mammal and sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation center.
