You can also indulge in fresh pecans, including pecan cracking and shelling. This south Mississippi farm also offers visitors a picnic area to sit and enjoy your fresh picked produce, as well as restrooms for those with little ones in tow. May through October, you can pick your own apples, blackberries, grapes, melons, nectarines, peaches, plums, and other vegetables at Cherry Creek Orchards seasonally for a fresh from the farm experience. While you're there, enjoy honey from hives right on the farm, or pick up farm grown produce already picked for your convenience. In October, you and your kiddos can embark on a u-pick farm adventure with fall pumpkins, or make an appointment with the farm crew to visit off season. Visit Charlie's U-Pik farm to pick your own strawberries in Spring, or beans, carrots, sweet corn, cucumbers, peas, and more seasonally. But, remember to bring your own bucket to avoid an $8 charge for their 5 gallon bucket. Bringing an ice chest and water, and, if you're picking okra or other tall itchy plant, be sure to come prepared adorned with long sleeves for the best u-pick farm experience. Note that this farm only accepts cash and checks, and that trees provide little shade, so it may be best to time your visit during cooler weather.

Just minutes south of Memphis, Tennessee, Cedar Hill Farm is a full working u-pick farm compete with a petting zoo, pony rides, fishing pond (but bring your own poles and bait for catch and release fun) and tons of seasonal activities for a small entrance fee to the farm.
