Stroll along the 345-foot Liberty Bridge, admire the annuals, see a public Shakespeare performance or just take it all in at this natural haven. Pack a picnic or walk to a nearby restaurant and stay for the day!

2Sesquicentennial State Park

Sesqui's 30-acre lake, trails, dog park and ropes course make it a popular spot for locals looking engage with nature or just relax. Fly a kite on a breezy spring day, or get the whole family together for a group campout.

3Columbia Canal & Riverfront Park

With more than eight miles of lighted trails and boardwalks, an outdoor amphitheatre and views of the Columbia skyline, the Three Rivers Greenway (part of Riverfront Park) is the perfect place for an urban escape. The park itself boasts a historic pump house from Columbia Canal and Water Works, fishing spots, and kayak and canoe access.

4Waterfront Park

Between the iconic pineapple-shaped fountain and streams of jets nearby, your kids will have a wet and wild blast splashing in this free outdoor area. Sit in a swing overlooking the water, take in the scenery -- and most importantly, don't forget your camera and a towel.
