Smoothies With
Staying Power

A smoothie can be a refreshing, but also filling, start to your day. These five smoothie recipes will invigorate your morning routine and keep you energized until lunch.

Smoothies

Drinking a smoothie in the morning can set an exhilarating tone for the day. Something about a cold fruit beverage transports me to a sunny beach. I love that even on an ordinary weekday I can make a breakfast that feels special but takes little effort to pull together.

If I have any complaint about smoothies, it's that they don't always keep me full for long. Adding fat, protein and fiber keeps hunger at bay and allows for more creative flavor profiles. You can easily go beyond the simple fruit-and-ice smoothie by adding yogurt, milk or nut butters. For a dairy-free smoothie, try coconut milk, almond milk or soy milk. Silk Fruit & Protein is another dairy-free alternative you could add to your smoothie to increase the protein.

To get you started, here are five breakfast smoothies to stimulate your senses and keep you fuller, longer.
