Avoid annoying untied shoelaces

School is just around the corner and more and more teachers are requesting that kids who don't yet know how to tie their shoes only wear laceless shoes to school. Check out these favorites for kids who are still learning to tie.

Toms

Toms are oh so cool for many reasons — the company’s do-good philosophy (for every pair you buy, the company will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need), the comfortable styles and the fun and funky patterns for boys and girls. And for toddlers learning to tie their shoes, the Velcro Fuzzy Grip closure secures the shoes on tiny feet. We love the Alfie style (Toms, $30) — this blue-and-white checkered pattern with the yellow sole just screams back to school.

Keds Cecile

For your girly tomboy, the Keds Cecile (Stride Rite, $30) is the perfect combination of frilly and tough. The canvas shoe features rubber outsole for traction, rubber toecap for protection and adjustable Velcro strap with darling bow to add a bit of girly girl flair to your daughter’s kicks. Available in dark pink, light pink and turquoise blue.

Marvel by Stride Rite

What kid doesn’t want to be a super hero? Let him feel like one with these “X-treme” sneakers (Stride Rite, $50) with “X-tra Fast Strap” for quick and easy closure and snug and secure fit without the hassle of trying to tie laces. After all, no superhero has time to tie laces!

Vans 2 Tone

We love this black and grey combination of a skate shoe and a boat shoe — minus shoelaces and plus an easy Velcro closure strap. These Vans 2 Tone shoes (Vans, $35) feature the traditional honeycomb traction sole you've come to expect from the brand.

Morgan&Milo Mary Janes

We can’t get enough of these darling sparkly Mary Janes (Zappos, $48) with a sweet flower on the Velcro strap. Available in a rainbow of colors, these shoes are a challenge to buy just one!

Pediped Grip n Go

This sophisticated shoe combines the comfort and style of Pediped with the durability that young children need in a shoe. We love the brown and cream combo that's set to debut this fall.

Fleece Dawgs

Come wintertime, your child will love the cozy slip on Youth Fleece Dawgs (USA Dawgs Shoes, $25) complete with removable fleece in case his tootsies get too warm! Available in many colors, these are great for boys and girls still learning to tie their shoes. And for younger sibs, check out the darling Baby Fleece Dawgs ($25). Awwww...

Pediped Genevieve

Not to be outdone, the girls can rock the Pediped shoes, too! This bronze Genevieve style with floral pom detail is perfect for fall. With memory foam technology and flex fit system, these shoes will last until school's out next summer!
