Two babies and no pregnancy for Jillian Michaels

No twins — or a pregnancy — here! Jillian Michaels, who recently confirmed speculation that she is gay, has grown her family by two. Her family is a unique one, as she has not only adopted a 2-year-old girl from Haiti named Lukensia, but also welcomed a newborn son when her partner Heidi Rhoades had a little boy named Phoenix — all in the same week. Can you imagine suddenly going from two to four?

The babies

Lukensia joined the family just days before Phoenix entered the world. Her adoption was a long and grueling process, Jillian reported, and she had a dossier filled out and delivered to the Republic of Congo prior to finalizing the Haitian adoption. There has been no word on the status of that adoption or if they will move forward, but adding a toddler and a newborn to a home in the span of a few days would keep anyone busy, even for one of the most hardcore fitness trainers known to man.

Other celebrity adoptions

Jillian isn’t the only celebrity to have adopted recently. She joins a list of several celebs who have adopted this past year.

Katherine Heigl adopted a girl she and her husband, Josh Kelley, named Adalaide Marie Hope in May
Charlize Theron adopted a son, Jackson, in March
Beth Littleford adopted a daughter, Halcyon ‘Hallie’ Juna, in March
Ty Burrell and his wife adopted a baby girl in March
Denise Richards adopted a little girl she named Eloise Joni in the summer of 2011

Support for Jillian

Support has been flowing in for Jillian and her partner since the news broke. Of course, there are detractors to their happiness and joy, but many people are nothing but proud and happy for the new family. “Gay families don't need your approval,” wrote Shay, a commenter on the LA Times blog. “[The kids are] going to have an amazing, fulfilling life whether you like it or not. This is 2012. The world is evolving. Get used to it!”

Another commenter at People agreed. “What beautiful children!” she said. “And I love her outlook on parenting… if she is as dedicated and motivated to parent as she is to all else in her life, she will be amazing!”

As Kelly, mom of two said, “Love builds a family. Whether straight, gay, lesbian, or transgender, as long as these kids are loved and respected, I'm a supporter.”

Whoa this generation........we shouldnt be surprised anymore

John, joe, and abby, if you're still on a rampage to find someone to blame for the way other people live their lives, blame straight people. They're the ones who first started having babies.

Seriously, Joe? What do you have to say about single mothers or widowed mothers? 'Find a man to raise your kids now?' really? It is the same thing, same concept. You dont know, they could have a father figure for those children. Perhaps ann uncle or grandfather or a godfather. Butt out of everyone else's lives and keep hateful opinions to yourself. You can preach about wanting to take someone's civil rights away when yours are taken, you don't know how it feels. Do you have a problem giving marriage rights to people of different races? That was illegal not too long ago. I have no patience for hateful people who continue to spread the message of hate and talk about being american and christian and all that jazz. Last i checked, this was the home of the free, not the elite upper classs. Go live back under the rock from which you came.

This is a sickening reflection of the unnatural lifestyle CHOICES being made by people in this morally bankrupt society. Have we lost perspective so badly that homouals rejecting the fathers of their children to live unnatural, socially destructive values and pass these along to kids is considered a good thing? And using politics, courts, and shoving activist nonsense down everyone's throat to get the rest of society to see that as "normal." Unbelievable.

To the blogger.....obviously the community is looking for approval from the biologically and ually normal straight community or else the homo agenda wouldn't be shoved and forced down the throats of Americans. Homouality deals with ual orientation not anything visible aka race.. Stop piggy backing the civil right of us in the Agrican American and colored people community. It's wrong to raise those kids without a daddy.

Wow I can't imagine waking up and having a newborn and a toddler! Talk about chaos. Good for them though! They adopted a child in need. Both those children will grow up in a home full of love and support, and that's all that matters.

Good for them! I love stories like this. She'll need some physical fitness to keep up with those kiddos.
