Age 16 when daughter, Maddie, was born in 2008

Jamie Lynn Spears, the seemingly wholesome, younger sister of pop megastar, Britney Spears, rocked the world of tween fans everywhere when she announced she was expecting a child with her then boyfriend, at just 16 years old. Daughter Maddie was born in 2008, making her 4 years old now. Although the on-again/off-again relationship between Jamie Lynn and Maddie's father, Casey Aldridge, didn't last, Jamie Lynn has made a life for herself and Maddie in their Louisiana hometown, staying off the celebrity radar for the most part.

Britney Spears

Age 23 when son, Sean Preston, was born in 2005

Although she certainly wasn't a teenager like her sister, Britney Spears also jumped into motherhood at a young age, giving birth to her oldest son, Sean Preston in 2005 at age 23, not long after marrying his dad, now ex-husband, Kevin Federline. Sean Preston, who will be 7 this September was joined by brother, Jayden, just a year later. Britney went through a, well, interesting period in her life not long after becoming a mom, but lately, things seem to be looking up for Brit, who is engaged to long-time boyfriend, Jason Trawick. We wonder... will there be a third baby for Britney?

Reese Witherspoon

Age 23 when daughter, Ava, was born in 1999

We all love Reese Witherspoon and her hilariously endearing movies, but did you realize that she was just 23 years old when daughter Ava was born? Ava, who is almost 13, was joined by brother Deacon in 2003, and both are about to become siblings to Reese's newest arrival, who she is currently expecting with husband, Jim Toth. We're pretty sure Reese would say that it's different being pregnant at 30-something, compared to being pregnant at 23!

Ashlee Simpson

Age 24 when son, Bronx, was born in 2008

Another younger sister of a megastar, Ashlee Simpson (big sis is Jessica Simpson) had son, Bronx, with then husband, rocker Pete Wentz, at the age of 24. And, Ashlee is still a young mom — Bronx is reaching the age of 4 and there's no way that you're going to see her driving a minivan or wearing mom jeans anytime soon. Next up for Ashlee? She's an auntie to Jessica Simpson's new daughter, Maxwell.

I always wanted to be a young mom, and I guess I sort of am. I was 26 when I had my first baby. My mom was 25 when she had me, but her mom had her first at 20. I always considered "young" to be less than 25, which is also what this article implies. Nowadays people seem to be waiting longer and longer. Personally, I think it's best to have kids earlier that way your body bounces back sooner and you can retire without kids in the house and visit grandbabies!

Those Spears' sure are fertile.
