Homemade Bubbles

Here's how you can make your own homemade bubble solution for great, long-lasting bubbles!

Bubble Rain by Steve Jurvetson

Bubble solution ingredients

1 cup water
2 tablespoons glycerin
4 tablespoons dishwashing liquid
Optional: 2 drops food coloring

Homemade bubble directions

Combine all ingredients and stir together gently -- try not to create foam. Store in a well-sealed plastic container.

A few notes about ingredients:

  • Glycerin may be available at a drugstore, but there are also many places you can buy it online -- here is one place you can check out.
  • Light corn syrup may be substituted for the glycerin if needed -- but be warned, this can leave behind a slghtly sticky residue.
  • Inexpensive dish soaps tend not to be as concentrated, and will affect your bubbles' performance.
