All the chatter about Jared Padalecki recently has revolved around his comeback as Dean Forester in the Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls, but the actor has some news that's even bigger and better than that.
Appearing on Live! With Kelly, Padalecki revealed that he and his wife, actress Genevieve Cortese, are expecting their third child, with the new arrival expected in March 2017.
The new baby will join the couple's two sons, Thomas Colton Padalecki, 4, and Austin Shepherd Padalecki, 2.
The actor, who played Dean Forester in Gilmore Girls for five seasons before joining the cast of Supernatural, also shared the sweet story of how he and his wife got together.
They met on set of Supernatural, which Padalecki described as "special and unexpected." And Cortese intrigued him from the get-go. He thought she was "cute and smart" because she was always reading, and as much as he acknowledges how irritating it is when people interrupt you while you're reading, he couldn't stop himself from doing that very thing. Basically, he kept asking her questions, pretending he knew more about literature than he actually did and finally plucked up the courage to ask her to lunch… which turned into dinner.
The much-anticipated Gilmore Girls revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes, each representing a season of the calendar year, but we don't know how many episodes Padalecki will appear in. Fans of the show will remember that Padalecki's character Forester was Rory's first serious boyfriend, the boy she lost her virginity to and had an on/off relationship with throughout the five seasons he was featured in.
