Soap star Ashley Jones and her husband, Joel Henricks, welcomed a baby boy May 24, but it's just now that we're learning the little guy's name.
Jones, who briefly reprised her role as Dr. Bridget Forrester in The Bold and the Beautiful last year and will return to play Parker Forsyth in General Hospital this summer, described holding her son as the "most mesmerizing, perfect moment" and said the experience has given her a "deep need to protect." His name: Hayden Joel Henricks. He joins big brother Huck, 4, who is Henricks' son from a previous relationship.
Jones revealed that her husband’s middle name is his father’s name, so they carried on the family tradition by choosing Joel as a middle name for their son. And Hayden took a bit of time to decide upon because the parents wanted to meet and hold their son before they decided on a name.
Many parents will relate to calling their newborn "Baby" for a couple days before finally nailing the name, right?
The name Hayden is a popular baby boy name. Since the early 1990s, it has risen steadily on the U.S. baby name chart. In 2007, it was the 71st most popular baby boy name in America. Although it has dropped since then, it was still No. 151 in 2015. Originally an English name meaning "fire," Hayden also means, "from the hedged in valley."
Jones has shared her pregnancy journey with her fans on social media, posting regular bump pics on Instagram and charting the highs and lows on her pregnancy blog.
Congrats to the family of four!
