The former Bachelor contestant and her husband brought new meaning to Labor Day this week as they welcomed their first child together into the world. Boguskie Gaston announced on Labor Day via social media that her water had broken. On Tuesday, the couple announced the arrival of their son, Ranger Gaston, via Instagram and shared this squee-worthy snap of the little guy:
Hello world! Ranger Gaston |9-8-15|5:26|4lb14oz|17in| He's perfectly healthy and happy! @rustygaston and I can't believe what a blessing God has given us! "For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am beautifully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:13-14a #RangerGaston
Happily, both Mom and baby are doing well, leaving us free to dish about the infant's moniker. With a powerful surname like Gaston, which makes one think of strapping men with large, perfect teeth and a penchant for eating massive quantities of eggs, finding a first name that was equally cool was no easy task. But Ranger Gaston fits the bill nicely.
The name Ranger is French in origin and means "ward of the forest." While it's a strong name that wouldn't be at all out of place in an action movie, Ranger isn't particularly popular. It has never even broken into the top 1,000 most popular baby names for boys, giving it bonus points for being a name that's super unique but still easy to spell and pronounce.
With mom Kacie's background as a personal trainer and the couple's nature-infused plantation wedding last year, it's no wonder they chose this name that conjures up images of being active and outdoors. Little Ranger may be spending most of his time eating and sleeping for now, but he'll likely be living up to his name and scaling trees in the backyard in no time.
