It looks like Kim Kardashian is officially back to Twitter, after taking a social media break after giving birth to baby North West. She did return briefly to wish sister Khloe and her niece Penelope a happy birthday, but the new mom has been tweeting this week on everything from motherhood to the Trayvon Martin verdict and the death of Cory Monteith.
“Wanted to say thank you,” she tweeted, with a link to her website with a longer post in which she wrote:
“Hey guys, These past couple of weeks have been filled with the most exciting experiences of my life. I’m enjoying this time to fully embrace motherhood and spend time at home with my family. I’ve been reading all of your messages and want to thank you all for your sweet thoughts and best wishes. It truly means everything to me. I am so blessed to have the support of my family and fans in this beautiful moment. With love, Kim.”
No photos yet of the new mom or of baby North, (I’m sure those will be in a big magazine spread shortly) but Kim K. has tweeted other photos, including this one of herself in a white swimsuit with the hashtag captions, “Throwback Thursday Cabo,“ “All White Everything“ and “No Filter.“
Kim K. also tweeted her thoughts after the Trayvon Martin verdict:
“My heart goes out to Trayvon Martin's family & loved ones. Thought & prayers being sent their way #NoJustice.” The irony that her own father was one of the defense lawyers in 1995 that got OJ Simpson acquitted of murder was not lost on many of her followers, who tweeted their dismay.
She was also one of the many celebs who expressed their sadness over the death of Glee star Cory Montieth. “Just heard about the death of Cory Monteith. So sad. Prayers 4 his family. Praying 4 Lea too! Words cant describe what they must be feeling,” she wrote.
And lastly, in case you missed Kim's mom Kris Jenner’s talk show circuit, she has her own show.
“Watching my mom now! Couldn't be more proud!!! Tune into the Kris show now!“ tweeted Kim.
Evan Rachel Wood
Actress Evan Rachel Wood is pregnant with her first child — and is having some major pregnancy cravings… and it's not all for food.
“Whoa. Whoa. Peanut butter pop tarts?! Of course, because I cant smoke any weed right now. Dam#it!” she tweeted.
“How can you be so excited to see someone you have never even met? #preggers,” the Mildred actress also tweeted.
No word yet exactly when Wood is due, but she must be getting close! “When a pregnant woman says she just 'rolled' out of bed, she is being very serious,” she joked.
Wood also tweeted about the death of Cory Monteith, after his autopsy results released showing he died of an accidental overdose of heroin and alcohol.
“It doesnt seem right to me that in the case of a celebrity death the autopsy report is released to the public, as if its any of our business,” she tweeted.
She also defended 19-year-old Justin Bieber, who has been in the news lately for his crazy behavior, including peeing into a restaurant mop bucket.
“If someone was filming all the dumb reckless rowdy stuff we did with our friends, we would ALL be embarrassed,” she tweeted, continuing on in a series of tweets. “Just remember that before you start getting on Justin Bieber's case for acting his age. I am not excusing bad behavior. But I do understand being young and stupid on occasion.”
I have to totally agree with her on that one.
The usually Twitter-savvy Jessica Simpson has kept quiet since giving birth to her second child, a boy named Ace Knute, two weeks ago — but she is back and sillier than ever!
“Eric got carried away with his swaddling skills! @TinaSimpson,” she wrote, referring to her fiancé Eric Johnson. She posted this picture of her mom Tina swaddled in the bed!
No word if Tina is still swaddled in that position, unable to move.
“Have no idea why it took all this nursing to discover the amazingness that is The New Girl! I need more. Thank u @ZooeyDeschanel thank u,” tweeted Jenna Dewan-Tatum, who recently gave birth to daughter Everly with her husband Channing Tatum.
Speaking of Channing, the couple celebrated their two year anniversary and she took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support.
“Aww thanks guys for all the anniversary love! Think I'll keep him,” she wrote.
She also spoke out on the surprising death of Monteith.
“So so devastating about Cory..angels be with him now....everyone send @msleamichele and his family love and prayers,” she wrote.
