Fall pom pom wreath

What you'll need:

  • fall colored yarn
  • scissors
  • 10-inch wreath form
  • U-shaped floral pins

What you'll do:

  1. Create the pom poms by wrapping the yarn around the palm of your hand. Wrap the yarn 35-40 times, then cut the yarn.
  2. Carefully slide the yarn off of your hand, keeping the bundle together.
  3. Cut a 4-inch piece of yarn and tie a double knot around the center of the yarn bundle.
  4. Cut the loops at both ends of the yarn bundle to create the pom pom. Continue making pom poms until you have approximately 40 pom poms to cover the wreath form.
  5. Slide the U-shaped floral pin around the pom pom and press the pin into the wreath form to secure the pom pom to the wreath.
  6. Fill in the front and sides of the wreath form with pom poms, then your wreath is ready to hang.

What you'll need:

  • yellow and orange cardstock
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • shaving cream*
  • red, orange, yellow and brown paint
  • popsicle sticks
  • squeegee
  • scissors
  • paper plate
  • glue

What you'll do:

  1. Put a 1-inch layer of shaving cream in the bottom of the baking dish.
  2. Scatter dollops of paint over the top of the shaving cream.
  3. Use the popsicle sticks to swirl the paint with the shaving cream to create a marbled look.
  4. Press the cardstock over the top of the shaving cream.
  5. Remove the cardstock and transfer it to a flat surface. Use the squeegee to remove the shaving cream from the paper, and the marbled design will be revealed underneath.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 with more cardstock until the paint design begins to fade.
  7. Once the cardstock is dry, use the scissors to cut leaf shapes out of the cardstock.
  8. Cut out the center of a paper plate, and create the wreath by gluing the leaves to the outer ring of the paper plate.

*Be sure to use shaving cream, not shaving gel.
