Small gestures, big love

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about big gestures and expensive gifts. You can show your guy you care in smaller but no less meaningful ways. If you’re stumped for gift ideas, take a look at the three romantic gestures we think will go a long way in making your man feel special on the 14th.

Woman whispering in mans ear

Thank him for something

When was the last time you thanked the person you love for something they do for you? We're not talking about clearing the table after dinner or remembering to pick up milk on the way home from work. We're referring to the things that make your man such a great catch. Does he always know exactly what to say to cheer you up? Is he a great listener? Does he inspire you to set and accomplish your goals? Thank him for all of the things you truly appreciate about him this Valentine's Day.

Compliment him

A few words of kindness can go a long way to making someone feel loved. This Valentine's Day, make him feel extra special by giving him some thoughtful compliments. To really make this one count, dig deeper than just telling him how sexy he looks in the T-shirt you got him for Christmas or how much you like his smile. Comment on aspects of your guy that you would only notice by knowing him as well as you do. Things like how great he is at coming up with fun date ideas, how charming he can be even with people he's only just met or how witty his toasts are at dinner parties. Trust us; he'll feel great knowing that you made a point to say something nice about his best qualities.

Flirt with him

One of the best ways to show your love (without having to spend a cent) this Feb. 14 is to do some flirting. It's something we do at the beginning of a relationship, but that seems to fall to the wayside after a few years (or less). This Valentine's Day, make a point to get a little flirty with your man. Laugh at his jokes, make suggestive comments, lean in close as he's telling you about his day – anything that makes him feel wanted. Flirting is fun, so turn on your charm. He'll love the extra attention and he'll feel extra-special on the most romantic day of the year.
