remove barriers to a hot sex life!

Want to turn your sex life around? Dr. Laura Berman, OB/GYN, Oprah's sex and relationship expert, shared some of her tips on how you can crank up the heat in the bedroom with SheKnows. Today's topic: What barriers you can remove to spice up your sex life. (Part one of a four-part series!)

Dr. Laura Berman, OB/GYN, was a frequent guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and now has her own show called In the Bedroom on the OWN network. She talked with Jamie Beckman, relationships writer for SheKnows and editor of SheKnows' sex blog, Sexcerpts, about moves women can make to create some serious passion when making love with their partner.

First, let's talk immediate results!: Before you spice up your sex life, get your worries out of the way, whether you need to communicate better with your sweetie or switch up your birth control.

In the video, Dr. Berman offers this sex advice:

  • Figure out what's standing in the way of having a hot sex life. Is it a communication problem? Is it a fantasy you want to try?
  • Choose a birth control method that's right for you by having a conversation with your gynecologist. "You have to really explore the options. You may or may not be on the one that's the right fit," Dr. Berman says.
  • Focus on the "fun part" of sex after you've nailed down your birth control method.

Now take action! Try this tonight

Even if you're feeling shy, saying something as simple as "Let's stay in tonight" and giving him a meaningful look is sexy times 10 for a guy. For more suggestions, read 5 Phrases that will turn him on.

I just hate that my husband and I let our life get kind of's always the same routine, which is fine but sometimes I wish it was more exciting and we could try something new.

I think the best advice to having a great life is to communicate. I don't think anyone has hot passionate "movie " haha. You have to know what you like, and know what your partner likes, and go from there. As long as you both are communicating it should be great.
